Ernie's Famous Subs: Savory Sandwiches in Greenville, NC

When I tell you to RUN and not walk to this place... I mean it!!! I had heard many things about this particular establishment from not only reviews but several people, so I decided to give then a try today. I am 45 minutes away from this restaurant but was in the area today, and I wanted to take a chance on this place... I'm SO GLAD I did!! From the minute you walk in you are greeted with some of the most amazing scents and smells of your lifetime!! I can see why the parking lot was full and there were so many people inside waiting patiently for their perfectly prepared creations. At the advice of a few, I chose the large Peppersteak Sub All The Way, and let me tell you, I was NOT disappointed!! I just don't know how they can pack so much flavor in one sandwich!! The entire staff was so friendly and polite and busily working to help everyone, and the short wait was well worth the product (trust me on the wait) There were a few small tables available for dine in, if you choose, but I saw most people were like me and chose to carry out. Grade A Sanitation on the wall, everything was clean and I found the environment welcoming. Now on to the sub... I don't know if they bake the bread in house or have it delivered, but it was so soft and fresh, but that little bit of crunch you want in that perfect bite! The steak was prepared and seasoned perfectly, with just the right amount of meat, lettuce, tomatoes, banana peppers onion and oregano that your mouth is on the best carnival ride of your life in those bites! The only negative thing I can say is that I'm 90 minutes away round trip, but you can bet your bottom dollar that I'll be back there again soon!! And yes, if you follow me, you know I don't give alot of 5 star reviews... but this place Is DEFINITELY 5 star worthy! Keep up the good work guys, I'll be dropping in on you again in the future!! My family and I love this place. They have great subs and my mama comes all the way from Washington state asking for one and the hot dogs so that should tell you all you need to know.

I went to Ernie’s today after seeing the place pop up on my FYP on TikTok and seeing how everyone was talking about the pepper steak sub I had to drive out there and give it a try and it was not disappointing. I got the pepper steak sub, fries and a dr.pepper but first of all that sub is a 10/10 it was amazing it’s pure perfection I’ll definitely be going back for it, the fries were a little cold but I still ate them and the dr.pepper was nice and crisp. If you haven’t tried this place before you should I’m so glad I did

This place is amazing food is great as well as the staff! So glad we decided to try it. Definitely coming back again

After being in Greenville numerous times we finally stopped here. We are from PA and this is a must stop. Service was great, place was clean. Lots of customers coming in and out. Staff was friendly and conversating with customers new and regular ones. Food was great. Probably the best cheesesteak Ive had. The bun was fantastic too, fresh soft toasted just perfectly. We got large subs and finally had to force ourselves to stop eating bc we were full but couldn’t put it down. We will definitely be coming back when we are in town.

The food here was really good. I read the reviews before going. They just need a bigger sign stating where they are. I took me a few minutes while walking to find it. Directly on the corner across from the dairy queen. I'll most definitely visit again when I'm in town

The subs were really good. We both got the peppersteak sub, and they reminded us of subs we used to get in the north. They were a good size, the bread was great, and the meat to toppings ratio was excellent.

The pepper steak was as good as advertised; considered “the best” item on their menu. Little pricey but well worth a great sub!
